LABORATORY SECTION AWARDS for 2008

There are many times that a lab person goes the extra step to assist a client or visitor in their facility or community but not always recognized for the exceptional work.   This year recognize that lab professional with a WNCPHA LABORATORY SECTION AWARD.  It only takes a few moments to nominate that deserving public health laboratory professional for one of the lab section’s awards but the recipient’s memories of the award and recognition will last for years.  As a previous recipient I can only say that it is a privilege and honor to have received an award and one that I will always cherish.   Each day at work the award is one of the first things I see as I walk into my office.  So please submit your nomination(s) for that deserving and dedicated lab professional today.  A nomination form is included in this newsletter.

Beth Fletcher Award for Outstanding Laboratory Professional of the Year

“She goes above and beyond what is expected to provide quality lab services for our patients.”  “Thank you for chipping in to get the clinic started.”  “You are my favorite person to work with during clinic because you always have a positive attitude!!”  Have you heard or said something like this about someone?  We all know special people who deserve recognition for their many contributions.  Now it is time for you to ACT!!!!

Alexander-Sayers Award

A lifetime achievement award given to an individual who has contributed substantially to the advancement of public health laboratories in our 45 county area.

● Nominee must be a current member of the WNCPHA Laboratory Section.

● Nomination must be in writing.  Nomination form is with this newsletter.

● Nomination should adequately state the reasons the nominee is worthy of         

     the award.

     Any supporting material or letters may be submitted but is not required.

● Nomination must be received by March 17, 2008.
